I have been receiving phone calls from 800-945-2000 for months as well as other numbers. The calls start as early as 4am PST. A man usually comes on the phone and asks to talk to me. Today the name used was David Manhattan, and that he states he is with Barclay's. The he states that Barclay's sent out a letter to me. And wants to know if I have received it. Even when I say I am not the person he is looking for, he continues to talk to me as if it I am. I tell him that I have not received the letter. He says that I am eligible for a full debt forgiveness on my Barclay's credit cards. He states that he can see that I have credit cards with them and that he could do a full debt forgiveness. All he has to do is verify my information. When I tell him that I am not going to do that he starts stating my full social security number, my date of birth, my address and the first 4 and the last 4 of my credit card numbers and all he needs is the expiration date and the middle 8 of the card #, then askes me how much I owe on the card. I tell him I don't want to give that information and he actually gives me the balance I have on the card as well as the interest rate. He states that he just needs to verify me and get me enrolled in the program which supposedly costs $0.00. Then I will receive paperwork to sign and send it back to them to get the forgiveness of debt and I will see it on my credit report in the next 3 -4 months. I do admit that the first time I did verify some of the information but not all. Then I am transferred me to a person who states that they are with Master Card and Visa. I hung up. Then I am called back, but I don't answer. They call me back over and over again for hours using different phone numbers. Over the course of 4 months I have requested to be removed from their call list. But they still keep calling me.
