New scam from (877) 643-3794 and (877) 643-3795 Wanted to share this here to hopefully help someone. My elderly mother a call from “Kleinberg Law”. Here’s what they claimed \- accused my mom of defaulting on a credit card that was open and actively used from 2009 and defaulted in 2014. \- said the debt was from Bank Of America \- claimed they sent letter communication about the delinquencies in the mail 30 days ago and didn’t receive word back \- they confirmed my moms SSN, DOB, and some other personal information which made me kinda worried. \- claimed that my mom will be served a court summons but we can settle the debt and not go to court. After pushing back on them, speaking to a lawyer friend, and requesting more information from the “law firm”, they started to get verbally aggressive. After I requested all communication to be by email, asked for their address of the law firm, asked for the court case number, proof of debt, and informed her that the so called debt was outside of the statute of limitations because of the age, the rep got really mad and started yelling that she would only speak to a lawyer. I called back a couple times, spoke to different people, all for them to get very angry and hang up. Them verifying my mom’s PII was what threw me for a loop. I also didn’t hear any background noise with the rep like you normally might with big scam call centers. The phone number also didn’t show up as spam on my phone but the 877 area code was a red flag. Hopefully this helps someone, stay safe!
