I received postal mail February 3, 2026 as a "Registration Fee Voucher" for $199.00 that appears like a real check (but in fine print below it says "This is not a check." Also in big caps "FINAL NOTICE". This is a scam and scare tactic to get me to call 888-413-6075 and enroll in a high priced vehicle warranty scam disguised as some legitimate service. On February 18, 2026 the phpone representative informed me that one, Vicki Mercer is the CEO of The Elaris Automotive Group in charge. The rep refused to give me Mercer's phone number or that of her admin assistant so that I could complain about her shady and unethical business practices. I told him I was reporting this scam to the Better Business Bureau. @media (min-width:768px){.css-1w6dufj{-webkit-box-flex:0;-webkit-flex-grow:0;-ms-flex-positive:0;flex-grow:0;-webkit-flex-basis:auto;-ms-flex-preferred-size:auto;flex-basis:auto;width:calc(100% * 6 / var(--Grid-parent-columns) - (var(--Grid-parent-columns) - 6) * (var(--Grid-parent-col [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Better Car Warranty] [Location: UT, USA- 84017]

I didn't call the number but checked it and it was flagged for scam/phishing. I also called my insurance, dealership where I got my vehicle, and the place where I do have a warranty to help with large repair costs. None of them sent anything out or had any knowledge of who it would be, coming to the same conclusion that it was a scam. Received in postal mail a notice of "Activation Required for Coverage Validation" for Insurance with "Protection Sample Identification Card" for a car that I do not own or have ever owned (2025 Ford Explorer), also with only part of my name as owner. On the same day, I got a "Factory Warranty Alert" from 1-888-413-6075 with identical car (which I do not own) and the same partial name (First and Middle name, but no last name). This is annoying and disturbing and wonder whether it may lead to ID theft. [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Sureguard USA] [Location: TX, USA- 75082]
