We purchased a new car in 2024, with extended warranties. Starting this year (2026), we started receiving postal letters with no business name, only a phone number, 888-646-0339. The letter states we have not contacted them to activate our service contract, and that our factory warranty has expired. But, we can still get coverage. The letter looked suspicious, so instead of calling, I researched the phone number. Once I found it on the BBB site, I too filed a complaint. As to the location of the scam site, there's no address; thus, I don't know if in US or not. The vehicle is correct, as is our mailing address. How do these scum get such information? I received a Final notice stating the following. "Our records indicate that you have not contacted us to have your vehicle service contract activated. We are informing you that if your factory warranty has expired, you will be responsible for paying any repairs. However, if expired, you can still activate a service contract on your vehicle before it's to late Please Call 888-646-0339 today." We didn't call the number, we called the local dealership to inquire why we got this notice. They told us that it is a scam, and disregard it. I tried to upload a 348 KB PNG file but it gives me an error, and try again. [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Unknown] [Location: TN, USA - 38574]
I bought my first car (used) in Feb 2026 and then received a “final notice” in the mail after never receiving notice before regarding a vehicle service contract. “Our records, indicate that you have not contacted us to have your vehicle service contract activated. We are informing you that if your factory warranty has expired, you will be responsible for paying any repairs. However, if expired, you can still activate a service contract on your vehicle before it’s too late. Please call 888-646-0339 today.” I never applied for this and we have insurance. This is a scam. Received a “final notice” to extend a vehicle’s service contract for a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I have not ever owned this vehicle or even one similar in make or model. A customer number is given along with an expiration of coverage of 4/5/26 along with a number to call 888-646-0339 and various summaries of terms without dollar amounts. I recieved a letter from 2018 Toyota Rav4, no address only a phone number (888-646-0339). It was asking me to activate a vehicle service contract for a Toyota RAV4. I never purchased this car. They wanted me to contact them by January 9, 2026. I did not call I just wanted to report this scam. I was sent a letter in the mail claiming that I needed to call a number to have my vehicle service contract activated. I have no connection to the company, nor did them provide any identification other than a name (apparently “2016 Chevrolet Suburban”) and a phone number 888-646-0339. No website or other info I could use to investigate. [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Unknown] [Location: MA, USA - 02446]
I purchased a used car in May 2025 and added a powertrain warranty. I received a final notice in the mail saying I needed to contact 888-646-0339 to activate my warranty. When I called, they told me I needed to pay an additional $218 to activate my warranty. When I questioned why I needed to pay this cost, they put me on hold. When I googled the number, I found it listed here as a scam. I called the number back and told them I was reporting them to the BBB, and they promptly hung up on me. My boyfriend received a letter stating it was the "last notice" to have your "vehicle service activated." It stated it was from 2023 Nissan Altima, which is the car my boyfriend purchased a few months ago. It requested a phone call back at 888-646-0339. It stated "penalty for private use, $300."
