I was trying to call Lufthansa on 11/17/2025, the flight tickets have been fully paid through Lufthansa airline, the 2nd flight operated by Air Dolomiti, because I needed to add information to my upcoming flight. So I called a number that showed up as Lufthansa online, turned out that it was not! 888-705-3110 is the number, it is scam! I gave them my booking number and my last name...they were able to see my itinerary including fellow travelers which led me to believe I was speaking with lufthansa customer service. They said that my flight was not confirmed because of all the flights that had been scaled back during the recent government shutdown. They said I could upgrade to keep my reservation and seat. Considering our flight was leaving in 3 days and we had booked a cruise I gave them my information and they sent me an email confirming the upgrade. While on the phone with him he told me to verify the charge was ok from the text my bank had sent me. He verified my credit information then I received an email sent from [email protected] with all itinerary details, he asked me to reply to this email with " I authorize or I agree". once I realized it didn't show my new seat number, I questioned it. But at the same time, they took the money from my Bank of America credit card. The transaction detail shows Earn Flight. The representative said I will receive another email with new seat information, but I didn't get anything. Later that day after further investigation I called them back at the 888 number and I asked them to verify my reservation. They gave me the same explanation and I told them they were scamming me. I was trying to modify my flight date & time with American Airlines. I googled AA customer service number and this number popped up in google 888-705-3110. I called and spoke witj Adam Jones and he said his from Maryland, USA with indian accent (from India not the native American). He knew all my information, name, the name of someone in my flight and even my flight confirmation and details of my flight (date, time and location). So i thought i was speaking to a legit AA staff. He then informed me that to modify the flight it would be $3,800. I paid thru my credit card. The bank alerted me but I authorized the bank that it was me doing the transaction. The charged was done. I view my account witj AA and the modification is not showig so I called again the AA customer service but this time i called the number from the website and AA staff informed me that nothing was modified and it wasn’t them that i spoke with earlier and the number 888-705-3310 was not an AA number.
