Someone opened a PayPal account in my name So a few weeks ago I got a call from 1-888-895-5705 which caller ID showed as PayPal. I never answer calls because I'm aware of spoofing. I called PayPals main number and they said they didn't notice anything on my account and said it was probably spoofed but then I asked them to double check to make sure that nobody used my phone number for a different account. Turned out someone opened a business account in my name then did some charge back scam. I asked if there was any way to prevent this from happening again or just limit emails available to sign up to just the main one I use and they said "no." I'm not sure what info they used to set up this account and what has been compromised or how. Does anyone have any idea? Has this happened to anyone else. I already put a credit freeze and a bunch of other stuff. Not sure what else to do.
