Our business received a phone call from a person claiming to represent Merchant Services, a credit card processing company. They claimed that we had been over billed. She requested that we send our December credit card processing statement. She wanted us to email this information while she remained on the phone in order to give us a "Confirmation Number". I communicated I was hesitant to send sensitive data, and they should be able to access our information. She had me speak to the manager Ryan Davis who said there is nothing sensitive on the statement, so it is safe to send. He sent me back to Nina and she requested that we email it to " [email protected] " with the subject line NINA. We gathered the contact information from this person, and she gave the name "Nina" with phone number "945-348-4266". A quick google search of the email address indicated that it has been associated with fraud. We did not provide any information to this company.
