How to cancel a LA Fitness account the easy way.[Long] *I am writing this post and listing advice on how to go about canceling a membership with LA Fitness. This is based upon my own experience. I understand that many people have a negative perception of gyms for various reasons. If you don't trust me... just ignore what I have to say then. Up to you.* **DO NOT DEAL WITH THE CLUB YOU SIGNED UP AT DIRECTLY**. If you want to avoid the hassle of gimmicks to get you stay, then please avoid letting the club know you want to cancel. Also make sure if you do interact with the club that you walk out with a printed piece of paper that says a cancelation has occurred. If you do not ask for proof an employee will just try their best to lie to you about having canceled your account. (not sure if me being very nervous during my experience was the reason they got away with lying the first time or if this is standard tactic) The easy way is to contact the corporate office in Irvine, CA. Upon my search for the phone number I couldn't come up with anything on their website. The only info that I could find was on a club to club basis. I attempted to cancel online but the member login information was bounced back as incorrect. It wasn't a glitch. The website was actively giving me a system error claiming that the account I was currently logged into, somehow the username and password was wrong. For security reasons most websites have user accounts will ask for a password. This just made no sense. **HOPEFULLY YOU STILL HAVE THE CONTRACT.** I can't stress how important this can be. When you call the corporate office, having information that can identify might just help ease the process of finding a active account. In this case you'll want to provide the contract number (I think this is what it was called).
