I received the following SMS message: Hello xxxxx, this is Mia from ATO. We would like to review your application regarding your personal loan. Txt END to opt out. xxxxx if you no longer need the loan, let me know. Otherwise, can I call you now to discuss? I texted back to please call as I wanted to know where this company got my name and cell number. I was told by SMS message call was scheduled for an hour later. Call came in from robot asking to press any key to speak to rep. Robot did not respond to key press. I did a web search for ATO and came across this complaint about Amity One Debt Relief. Called the number on their website and got very harassing treatment from a young gentleman. The more questions asked about where they got my name finally triggered a hangup, however, I received several successive calls from 949-666-2381 immediately following the hangup and an additional SMS message as follows: Hello xxxxx, this is Mia with ATO, we just tried calling you. Is now still a good time? I phoned Amith One Debt Relief's main number and got a mild-mannered gentleman on the line. I indicated that I had not applied for a loan and I wanted to know where his company got my contact info. He said he did not have that information but gladly offered to place me on their Do Not Call List which I requested he do immediately. Will post back if the harassment continues...
