Business closing Location: Texas. I had bought some massage packages with my regular masseuse through massagebook.com using their gift cards last Nov during a holiday sale my masseuse offered. It was a package of 4 massages and I bought 2 packages. I was pregnant and due in Dec, so that was my Christmas gift from my husband. I could not use it until feb/March due to complicated delivery and masseuse told me she had a waiting period post surgery. Understandable. And then during one of my bookings, she was out sick and did not inform me and I showed up but we ended up rescheduling that one. Now I’ve seen her twice this year and today I asked her why is her calendar closed off, I could not book my other sessions in advance. She tells me her last day is in 2 weeks and she is going to Vegas to work some poker tournament doing massages there. She will move there and is closing her rented studio here in Tx. I mentioned I had 7 more sessions I already paid for. What will happen to those? Will I get a refund? She laughed and said. Oh no. No one is getting refunded. You can gift your massages to other people to use. And you can book and use it yourself before I leave. But I’m not refunding anyone. This was May 5 when she announced her closing via email and that her last day is May 23. By the time I got online to book something else for myself, my mother and father in law, any opening was taken. Other people who had bought her packages were also freaking out I’m assuming. It’s hundreds that she stole from every individual package. Each of my packages were $345 not including tip. I had only used 1 out of the 8 sessions I bought. I have emailed the massagebook website and no response yet even though their automatic email stated they answer within same day. I have her email and my sessions screenshot but I don’t want to put her on blast. I’m sadden and upset she would do this without warning. I’ve been her client for about 10 yrs
