[US] Credit card scam? Charged and they used email - PeopleFinders.com My husband got a weird email from a website called PeopleFinders.com - it was a membership welcome under a woman’s name. We’ve never used this website. He didn’t think much of it and ignored it. Then he checked his Amex account and noticed a charge of $1.95… from PeopleFinders.com. Reached out to Amex to report the charge, cancel the card and get a new one. We’ve both had fraudulent charges in the past, so have lots of people, but I’m wondering why they would use his actual email address and how they got both card info and an email address of his? It’s bizarre. I have an Amex linked to the same account and there was nothing fishy on my end. We checked all of our recent charges and the only things we’ve purchased lately are flights, from the legitimate airline website. We rarely use this account except for travel expenses.
