WSJ Subscription Fraud Beware of the WSJ Subscription Fraud. I took their Promo offer of $12 for 12 weeks. I did not like the content of their publication. Prior to the end of my Promo period, I wanted to cancel. I cannot cancel online. I need to call and speak with a Customer Rep to cancel my subscription. I do so. The Rep proceeds to ask me 21 questions about why I wanted to cancel. She then proceeds to bombard me with other offers - i.e. weekend only, digital access only, print only, etc. I refused on all counts, and told her "I want to cancel because I do not read the publication." She finally capitulates, telling me she cancelled my subscription and that I will receive an email confirmation. I never receive this confirmation. I check my credit card statement today, and lo and behold, I am now being charged a recurring $49/month for a print subscription. Imagine my frustration at having to call WSJ again! I do so. However, another Rep picks up and continues the same spiel, asking about why I want to cancel. I explain I already canceled, and I want a refund. However, she tells me she can only cancel after my subscription is up at the end of the month and she cannot give a refund. This is notwithstanding the fact that they incorrectly did not process my cancellation request. I then ask to speak to a Supervisor. Someone with a thick accent comes on the phone. I explain to them my situation. They profusely apologize and after checking my records, confirm that I did make a cancellation request prior to the end of my promo period. They then agree to process my refund of $49 and end my subscription effective immediately. After I hang up the phone, to my surprise, I receive an email from WSJ telling me that I will still be charged until the end of my subscription period. I also check my Account online and it too confirms I will still be charged. Obviously, the kind of B.S. I had to put up with is incredible. The potential amount of fraud they perpetrate on a mass
