New account reported I got a credit karma notification that a new account was opened in my name. I have not applied for a new line of credit in a few years so I was immediately worried. Well here we go, $32k line of credit opened through mountain America federal credit Union and from they time they opened it to the time I noticed it reported to my credit the balance was already $5,012! It was opened 9/22 and I found out on I believe it was 10/2. How do these people do this? Don’t they have to submit identity verification when opening an account through a credit union with that kind of limit!? That’s crazy to me. In the middle of an investigation now. In the mean time, police report has been filed and I put a freeze on all 3 credit bureaus.
