I found an impossibly low price on a house in Palm Springs. I submitted credit card information last night and immediately receive a brief, 2-page request for personal information for check-in. My name was misspelled on the form, and it seemed too brief to be legitimate. House details (amenities, policies) were missing from both the online listing and the registration form emailed to me. This morning I got a text from a random number 210-502-9115 asking if the payment went through because their payment system was down. I said no. Then they said they could also accept payment via Zelle, Apple Pay or Venmo. I replied I needed to use my credit card for travel expenses. I asked if they would send me a payment link once the payment system is working again and they said yes. Then I googled the email address on the website, and came to a scam listed here a couple weeks ago. Condo rental in Telluride found via google hotels showed a very nice looking 2 bedroom condo near the resort for $180 per night. When clicking through to enquire about availability, the linked site was telluridehomes.rentmyhome.net with several other condos available for rent in Telluride at similarly low prices. I went ahead and attempted to book, and got a confirmation email that it had been booked, and they sent a 2 page rental agreement to be filled out and returned to them. After sending the agreement, I then received a text from "Gloria" at (210) 502-9115 asking if I had record of the the charge going through with my bank, because they've been having issues with their payment processor. She suggested paying with Zelle, Paypal or Apple Pay instead, which made me suspect that this may not be legit. I then found other records on BBB of people being scammed by the same phone numbers/website in other popular vacation destination areas (Breckenridge, Kailua-Kona, Palm Springs, etc). I replied that I would only pay via secure payment portal, and asked if there was an option to retry the payment processing at which point they stopped responding. When calling either phone number they appear to be google voice numbers. The website also appears to have some sloppy details - the "about" page is talking about being a hotel in Greenwich village in NYC, not Telluride.
