I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe to be a fraudulent vacation rental scheme involving Gloria Renee and Katharine Dickey. I rented a vacation home advertised on the website listed above for the dates noted. When attempting to contact the business, I found that none of the phone numbers listed on the website were functional. The only working contact was a phone number provided for Gloria Renee, who instructed me to communicate with her via text message at (315) 846-2193. I was told that their credit card payment system was not working and was instructed to send both the rental payment and security deposit via Zelle. Relying on these representations, I sent the requested funds. After the payment and deposit were sent, communication stopped. Gloria Renee ceased responding to messages, and I was unable to obtain confirmation, assistance, or a refund. I later learned that Zelle payments are non-reversible, leaving me without the ability to recover my funds. When my family and I arrived at the property on the scheduled rental date, the home appeared abandoned, and there was no one present, no access provided, and no indication that the property was being legitimately rented. Attempts to contact the individuals again at that time were unsuccessful. Based on the nonfunctional contact information, insistence on Zelle payment, sudden cessation of communication after payment, and the condition of the property upon arrival, I believe this was a scam and that my money was taken under false pretenses. I respectfully request that the Better Business Bureau document this complaint, investigate this matter, and take any appropriate action to warn other consumers. I paid with a credit card online and the 315) 846-2193 texted that their credit card system is not working and we can take another form of payment ie zelle, apple pay and or venmo. of course i am trusting enough that i sent it zelle , then i looked up the telephone number and i saw another women was also scammed. also the address online is not the same when you look up the house on zillow Dollars Lost [BBB Scam Type: Online Purchase] [Business: Tropic] [Location: CA, USA- 91765]

hi - I was looking for a hotel in newport beach, CA and came upon this website: https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker/reportscam. I submitted the information to reserve 2 nights and gave my credit card information. I didn't receive an email confirmation, but the next day, I received a text from this phone number: 210-502-9115, which is not the phone number listed on the website. The note said that they were excited for me to rent the home, and if I had been charged. This was not sounding right. I called the number - and the number on the webstie, which is +1 3158462193, and both are not functioning phone numbers. I called my bank - no charge yet - and cancelled the credit card. But I'm worried! I am pretty sure this is a scam!!! please help advice and investigate this number.
