A Home Warranty Division (Private & Confidential) letter was mailed to me, giving the impression that it was from my mortgage company about a Home Warranty that was expiring and to call 805-221-8124, it did have my correct home address in the letter with a "Refer to Customer ID for me to use. The letter does not have a business name in the letter, it does have a small statement at the bottom stating "Please be advised that the amount you spend on home repairs or maintenance will continue to increase over time. That means that the average cost to fix or replace your Air conditioner, Hot Water Heater, furnace, Appliances, and others will only increase with the age of your home. Not all consumers have previous coverage. We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder." [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Unknown] [Location: MS, USA - 38671]

I received a letter stating my 'property's home warranty may be expiring, or has already expired. I let 'Michael' go through his presentation and 'good news', I was eligible for their coverage. He then went though some of the coverage, and the payment information. I asked for a copy of the policy and he said he could not provide one to me until I'd sent in the initial payment, "like all insurance companies." I thanked him for his time and hung up. This letter, like many, would lead one to believe that they've got a policy that is going to expire, leaving them vulnerable: It reads: "Attention: [Name] It is important you contact our office at 1-805-221-8124 upon receiving this notice to avoid any unnecessary delays in your coverage before [date 10 days from receipt]. This notice is to inform you that the property's home warranty, at [address], secured by [mortgage holder], may be expiring or has already expired. Our records indicate that YOU HAVE NOT CONTACTED US yet to get your Home Warranty up to date" [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Not provided] [Location: FL, USA- 33772]
