I booked a flight to Rome on United.com for my wife and I. I wanted to make sure we had lie-down seats so searched for a phone number and mistakenly called United Services at 866-228-4886. The person acted like a United Airline rep and when I asked if my flight had lie-down seats, he said no, but he could fix it. He said the flight change would cost $2600 more. I initially said no, then decided to do it and gave him my card number. I checked my Visa account later and the flight change actual cost $76 and the $2600 was scam money. I immediately cancelled my Visa card and changed my United.com sign in. I talked to my bank, but since the scammers did provide a service and I gave him my card info, I was liable for the $2600.
