Gumtree Scammer targeting vulnerable people Hey folks, I hope this is the right place to post this, Im not a regular poster. There is a woman running a scam on Gumtree that my mother-in-law fell foul of. She suffers from alopetia and was trying to get a wig for christmas. She purchased a beautiful wig at at a massively reduced price "a one off", on gumtree from a lady at Port Glasgow Inverclyde. Long story short it never arrived, there were lots of excuses and then she just stopped answering correspondence. We had paid up-front. So we went back to Gumtree and found the wig back up for sale! I got a friend to phone her and it was the same woman with the same story how she'd paid a large sum for it but unfortunately yadyada so she was selling it cheap. We reported the ad as fraudulent but Gumtree does nothing to help. They wont even do anything for 7 days giving the scammer plenty of time to erase her footprint, rinse and repeat. She has been posting from multiple accounts in the last few weeks always selling wigs and we keep reporting them. This woman is targeting vulnerable people like cancer and alopetia patients at christmas! My mother in law wanted to feel good this christmas. She is ill and really needed the boost. This scammer has taken that from her. You can always recodnise her ads because these things are always the same: 1 - Expensive wig/wigs 2 - Massively reduced price due to "unfortunate circumstances" 3 - Location is always Port Glasgow Inverclyde 4 - When you phone it is always the same woman. Glaswegian accent, very friendly, helpful, bubbly. She changes her name in the ads and makes throwaway facebook accounts but her number has stayed the same so far. For £50 a turn this scammer is breaking hearts this christmas so scambaiters help me? Her latest ad is here: https://www.gumtree.com/p/womens-wigs-entensions/easilocks-miracle-makeover-ice-blonde-hair-extensions.not-worn-only-out-of-box-to-look-at-/1204704796 Her name on the bank tran
Can someone help me scambait this guy? This guy on Gumtree is posting adverts for Beyonce tickets. I called him and he sounded genuine. His advert said his name was Jack and his location was London. Gumtree had some links to other adverts of his for furniture. When I called he said his location was Brighton. This was how he got me because we subsequently agreed that I would pay him by Internet banking and he'd send me the tickets by recorded delivery. I paid him, then called a few hours later and he said he'd sent the tickets. Of course the tickets never arrived and by the time I realised, he was no longer answering his phone. Then I found out that he had created a new posting on Gumtree with a new name and phone number. Same writing style, links to other adverts for furniture. Again location said London but when I called him he said he was in Brighton. So I decided to challenge him on his previous scam and he denied it all. I'd really like to scambait him now but I can't because he knows my voice. Can someone call him and scambait the hell out of him? I know I deserve your fiercest mockery for falling for this crap in the first place. Equally deserve your fiercest mockery for trying to see Beyonce. But I really wanted to treat someone special who loves Beyonce to some tickets, and this guy f*cked me over. Here is the new ad: http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/6-beyonce-tickets-for-this-saturday-4th-may-great-seats/1016582644
Would you agree this is a Misleading Job Description? Yesterday I was fired from my first job (of 2 days) for telling the new recruits what it was 'really' like to work for the company and not what we are told to tell them. Basically, the job involves going door to door for hours asking people to buy loft / attic insulation for their house. The job is paid 100% commission and has no flat fee payment of any sort for the role advertised. Below is a link to the job listing. During the recruitment phase, we were promised to make £250-£500 a week. However, I worked without making a single penny due to no sales and also paid £30+ for Train tickets to work and interviews, etc. http://www.gumtree.com/p/jobs/immediate-start-in-sales-customer-service/105294028 Does anyone agree that the pay is mis-advertised because only the managers will actually receive a flat rate pay, which they do not mention during the recruitment phase other than saying "You are paid for your time in the office" and every new employee for the company starts at the very bottom as part of the company policy. I'm not sure if this is placed in the correct subreddit but I am curious if you guys know if I have any legal standing? I am doing this mainly because I do not appreciate the verbal abuse I received from the boss and how I think he is conning people into the job by saying they are paid for work, which they are not.
