Question regarding consensual "assault" in North Carolina, or BDSM, pro-domination I have been reading through the [statutes](http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bysection/chapter_14/gs_14-33.html) and can't seem to find any kind of definitive answer. I am wondering about the legalities of consensual assault, specifically BDSM, in the state of North Carolina. I work as a professional dominatrix, and would like to make sure I am operating legally in this state. My services don't fall under "prostitution", but like I said, I can't find anything definitive about assault. Obviously if a client were to press charges on me, accusing me of some kind of non consensual violence, this would be an issue. But as far as consensual assault, bondage, etc, I have no idea. Is it really a massive grey area, or is there something I'm missing? Doubtful, but are consent forms at all relevant/legal? Edit: Also, assuming all of these acts are legal, is it legal to charge for it? Operate out of my home?
