My grandma got scammed for over $10000 Here’s the TL:DR version Tech support scam number given to my grandma from Apple tech support. Call if you’re bored. Prepare to be yelled at, a lot. 1 (866) 431-1744 1 (855) 791-4041 She’s in her 80s and got a phone number for google to call from an associate while on the phone with Apple tech support. Turns out she was given a tech support scam number. The whole time she thought it was legit and shared her screen, they set her up on online banking to refund her initial $250USD. They refunded $2500 by “accident”. She was then threatened on the phone, on her computer and cell phone. She was told to buy iTunes cards to pay them back. She purchased over 40 $100 cards and handed them over to reimburse the scammers. They took what was left in her account and now she was left with a huge credit card bill and all of her accounts taken over, passwords changed, everything. She gave me the number to call. I’ve been annoying them all day. If anyones bored feel free to join me in annoying these guys.
