How to stop these scammers? - I got hit hard today - $800 for fake Emporio Armani jackets. Walking back from lunch in downtown San Francisco today, I see a guy in an Infiniti FX35 at the corner of Kearny and Bush. Looking at me - asking if I speak Italian, I told him no, but what are you looking for? "SFO". He's totally going in a completely wrong direction, so I jump into the passenger seat and guide him towards 1st street (which leads to the freeway) - kind of on the way for me anyway and I'm thinking the tourist would be appreciative of hospitality. On the way down to where he has to drop me off, we talk about where I'm from, what I do, where he's from, what he does - apparently he's a representative for Emporio Armani, lives in Milan, travels to US every 6 months or so to introduce new clothing lines. (Btw, we're like a block away from official Emporio Amani store.) Says right now business is pretty bad, business is apparently good in Asia and Russia. Talk about our wives, mine speaks Italian and is a fashion designer. His wife is apparently a fashion designer living in Milan. Cool, interesting stuff. I tell him to pull over to drop me off, give him direction on how to get to the freeway and which way to SFO. He gives me his business card with Italian contact info, tells me to contact him next time we're in Milan, i ask him to do the same. I leave the car and after I wish him a "great trip home", he says something like, I have a few jackets I don't want to take back, you want them? Of course I said "sure". 4 jackets, 3 men's, 1 women's. About $1800-$2200 retail. Sure, I believe it - why doesn't he take it back? Business is bad, can't sell it here, if he takes it back, he has to pay 22% tax on it because it's a business item. Asks me what size I am, what size is my wife - sure, I don't even check the jackets, I have no reason to believe that he or jackets are not legit. I say sure, I'll take'em. He says that he wants to buy an iPad for his son, he politely asks f
