"God Gave me a gift" of a Publishing Clearing House Reward! 1-876-773-0292 BIG PHONE SCAM Going Around! Got a phone call at 8:53am today from a guy representing "American Publishing House", telling my mom that "God" has given her "a gift of $650,000." And all she has to do, is go to our local CVS, purchase a "card" (he didn't say what kind of "card") that would unlock a briefcase that would be delivered by FedEx at 1:00pm today. The briefcase contains half of the money, and he has a check for the other half of the money. They (I assume him and his associates) would then would take the briefcase and accompany my mother to our local bank to be deposited all the money (from the briefcase and the check) into our account. He then gave my mother a bunch of numbers including the check number and directed her to his supervisor for more information. -- This guy's name was Sam Davis. He called on her cell phone (a number that we do **NOT** give out) and of course it was blocked. The supervisor (who she was instructed to call on our land line) she did not catch his name, represented himself as associated with Publishing Clearing House and was the Executive of the company and that "God has given us a gift of this money" and "The only thing we have to do to receive the gift is when we FedEx arrives, have $450 dollars ready to cover taxes on the money." I took over, the call when i realized she was getting very upset and distraught. Found out in about 30 seconds he was a scam artist pushing to get his way. Threatening me that "it was a recording", blah blah. I told him that i had somewhere to be, and that i was "very interested in calling him back", and that i would call him back when i returned. ... I have no interest in talking to him again... "God" help him if he calls back. :D His number (that you can reach him at, so he says) is 1-876-447-9780. There was a miss call on the cell phone at 10:42am, that was registered in Jamaica, there was no messaged saved. The number
