Did I just fall for a scam? www.securitydepositrefund.org Hello fellow Interwebers: I was hoping that I could get some assistance from people smarter than me. Our old landlord is giving us the cold shoulder regarding our security deposit. I don't really want to go to small claims court because I really do not have the money for the fees up front. So, I looked for an alternative. The site is www.securitydepositrefund.org and they promise to get your deposit back. They take a certain percentage when they get it back, but ask for no up front fees. There's no credit card exchange or anything like that. However, they had a projected target date for finishing the job that ended Thursday (this would be one month after we filed.) There has been zero progress and repeated messages have gone unanswered. I'm unsure as to what exactly they would to have to gain, since no information, nor credit information was shared. But, if anyone could give me some advise I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!!
