The woman who became famous by destroying the Fresco now demands royalties. Does her claim hold? Read on BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-19674622 ) that she is claiming royalties. My understanding is that since she has indeed created a unique piece of art (regardless of how awful that was, and that it was done by destroying another piece of art.) Would her claim for compensation stand any chance? And if she was to win, could the owner of the original painting sue her for the whole sum of what she gets awarded, arguing that her painting only became famous/valuable because of the original painting?
