Verify Code Phone Scam I posted an ad on Craigslist for a tote, and this person texted me asking about it and wanted to verify that I was a "real person". That's reasonable I thought, until he wanted to send me a code and for me to confirm. However, he couldn't because that was my google voice number. I never heard of that type of scam before, but I had a funny feeling and declined. ​ After looking it up, apparently, they are trying to use "your personal number as the forwarding number for their \[Google Voice account\]".
