I'm writing to report a scam incident related to a fake Norton subscription support service. A few days ago, I was searching online for help to cancel my Norton subscription and avoid recurring charges. I found a webpage titled “Norton Cancel Subscription Help – Avoid Recurring Charges,” which displayed the phone number 844-336-8241. Believing it was legitimate support, I called the number. The person who answered claimed to be a technical representative and told me there were billing issues with my account. He took my remote access of laptop and asked me to pay for the amount of $891.00 by Debit Card. After I realized it was a scam and the person stopped responding. I request that this 844-336-8241 number and website be investigated to prevent others from becoming victims. @media (min-width:768px){.css-1w6dufj{-webkit-box-flex:0;-webkit-flex-grow:0;-ms-flex-positive:0;flex-grow:0;-webkit-flex-basis:auto;-ms-flex-preferred-size:auto;flex-basis:auto;width:calc(100% * 6 / var(--Grid-parent-columns) - (var(--Grid-pare [BBB Scam Type: Tech Support] [Business: Norton Imposter] [Location: FL, USA- 32714]
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to report a scam related to a fake McAfee customer support service. Recently, I searched online for assistance to cancel my McAfee antivirus subscription and came across a webpage titled “McAfee Cancel Subscription Help – Avoid Recurring Charges.” The page displayed the phone number 844-336-8241, which appeared to be an official support contact. When I called the number, the person who answered claimed to be a McAfee technician. He said there was a problem with my subscription and asked me to allow remote access to my laptop so he could check the issue. Trusting the support, I allowed him to access my computer remotely. After reviewing my system, he told me that I needed to purchase Walmart gift cards to complete the cancellation process and avoid recurring charges. Following his instructions, I bought the Walmart gift cards and shared the details with him. Later, I realized that the service was fraudulent and that I had been scammed. I am reporting this matter so that it can be investigated and others can be warned about this type of fraud. Sincerely, Concerned Customer .css-1w6dufj{-webkit-box-flex:0;-webkit-flex-grow:0;-ms-flex-positive:0;flex-grow:0;-webkit-flex-basis:auto;-ms-flex-preferred-size:auto;flex-basis:auto;width:calc(100% * 12 / var(--Grid-parent-columns) - (var(--Grid-parent-columns) - 12) * (var(--Grid-parent [BBB Scam Type: Tech Support] [Business: Unknown] [Location: IL, USA- 60510]
