We were attempting to load Turbotax onto our computer. After failed attempts on what looked like a legitemate website we were directed to call "IT" support. Long story short we allowed them access to our computer remotely after being told we could not access turbo tax because our computer internet connection was not secure. We authorized an initial payment of $400 on a credit card. Our daughter, upon doing a lot of research on this "company" determined it was a scam. We immediately called our credit card company and found out that they had already turned down the first attempt to obtain money. We froze our card and requested a new one. An app that they placed on our computer could not be removed by us. We took it to computer exeperts who cleaned the computer and looked for any other malicious software. We are still getting calls from them from multiple phone numbers. We do not answer but have been left messages stating that our payment had been declined.
