We contacted what we believed to be Spectrum customer service to discuss set up of a new television. During the call, it appears the line was intercepted by a third party identified as On Point Media, and the individuals name was Steve. We were then presented with an offer to enroll in an ADT security system with the representation that doing so would lower our Spectrum cable bill. After further investigation, we have confirmed that Spectrum does not have any promotional partnerships with ADT, SafeStreets, or On Point Media. This raises serious concerns that the call was misleading and not a legitimate Spectrum promotion. The "Spectrum" rep named Steve call me his number to reach out with any issues: 385-261-5727. Based on research, this number is associated with the 385-261 exchange in Utah and has multiple consumer spam complaints linked to similar numbers within this block. We have attempted to resolve this directly with SafeStreets and have sent multiple follow-up emails. We have received no response. At this time, we believe the interaction involved unclear representation and a lack of transparency regarding authorization and partnerships. The call originated from phone number 385-261-5727. Based on research, this number is associated with the 385-261 exchange in Utah and has multiple consumer spam complaints linked to similar numbers within this block.
