I am filing a complaint regarding a fraudulent and unprofessional duct-cleaning service operating under the names Pro Home Services and Masters Duct Cleaning. A person in our neighborhood Facebook group claimed to be a resident and stated she was coordinating a group discount with this company. She advertised a $199 service that included cleaning all supply vents using negative HEPA air equipment, before-and-after photos, and a free inspection of heating and cooling units. When the technician arrived, he brought only a small shop vacuum—not the equipment described. He inserted it into a ceiling vent and into the heating unit in the basement. When I saw this, I told him the service was not what was advertised. He also told me the cost was $398, not $199. I requested to speak with a manager, but he claimed no one was available because it was Sunday. I contacted the individual who posted the offer on Facebook Messenger while he was at my house, and she never responded. However, he/she was messaging people in my neighborhood from the same account. I told the technician I needed to speak with a manager before agreeing to payment. He refused to leave without my signature or payment. Fearing for my safety and my children’s safety, I reluctantly signed and paid. I wrote on the invoice that I needed to speak with a manager, but despite this, my credit card company denied the dispute, citing the signed invoice as a binding agreement. After I disputed the charge, the technician repeatedly contacted me in a harassing manner. I called the police, who reached out to him, and the harassment stopped. Other neighbors have since confirmed similar experiences. Two paid $600+, and both have filed disputes with their banks. Several neighbors canceled after hearing what happened. The invoice listed two numbers: 571-771-9372 and 240-824-2336, and the technician also used 512-270-1780.
