Offered me this great job that was remote on Handshake, then the CEO (robert) reached out to me saying he was sick and couldn’t talk yet but proceeded to email me. Then a month later says he is sending my check to his finances to send to me, I got it in the mail got suspicious and asked chatgpt and it was an obvious check scam, if i deposited it, he would have labeled it as fraud… email: I hope you are doing well. Your job as my assistant will start as soon as you receive your payment. As I mentioned in my previous message, I have instructed my financier to send your payment to the address you gave me. This payment covers your home office materials, errands, and first salary. I will send you the instructions for your errands via email and text once you receive the check. Please watch out for USPS delivery starting tomorrow. The envelope will be delivered to your front door or mailbox. Please keep track of your package using the tracking number I provided. Once you receive the check, the first thing to do is have the check deposited into your checking account with your bank in person at your branch.
