A New Low for Internet Scammers: Trying to Rip off CL House Renters BEWARE, there is clearly a new scam going on in the CL housing for rent. If you search in Vancouver, WA on the Portland CL, for "Absolute Charmer" you will get one ad from Apr. 21, from a legit Realtor entitled $99900 / 2br - 710ft² - Absolute Charmer! (Vancouver) under "real estate by broker". You will also get an ad from Apr. 23, entitled "$900 / 2br - 710ft² - Absolute Charmer (Vancouver)" under apts/housing for rent and a Yahoo mail address. My roommate who is looking for a new place emailed them and got a very suspicious email in reply. Then we found the other ad. This must be the newest scam. It is so fucked, because if they success, they will very possibly be rendering their victims homeless. The first one, the guy actually had "goodhome" as his yahoo account. Here is the email exchange from the first one, I redacted the name the scammer used because it turns out, he is the titled owner of that property.
